I am a sinner, which is why I need a Saviour, and I am sad to say that I still do knowingly and willingly sin sometimes. But that doesn’t mean it is right. As Christians we should try to live our lives the best we can as thank you to our Lord for all He has done and saved us from. Great post!

excellent study…yes, unfortunately many (including me at times) live in a way that takes that grace Christ so freely gave us for granted. May it not be so Lord Jesus, may we seek Your face each day and choose the more excellent path.

no, it’s never right to continue in sin just because we know God will forgive. I”m thankful to have learned this as a child – although I’m human and slip up!

I have heard this exact sentiment from others… I always go back to the call to “renew our minds” daily with the Spirit and to have our expectations align more and more with God’s – as a result sin becomes less and less. While it will never fully be gone while we are on this earth, it’s a sign that I am continuing to focus on my Lord and Savior first.

Yes, Marissa, we will never completely escape sin in this life. Renewing our mind, and aligning our expectations with God does have results and i is exactly what we need to do. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank God for His grace, love and mercy. We need Him. We are all sinners saved by grace, but shouldn’t continue living in sin. We try daily and when we fail, we pray for Gods forgiveness.

Mercy and grace are what we obtain when we are saved. If we truly accept Christ as our Beloved Redeemer we should be working on dying to self daily, rather than living for self. The gift of God’s grace and mercy are so precious to me I am truly grieved when I find myself in sin. I am humbled by a generous God who does forgive me and draws me close to His heart and demonstrates His love for me. Dying to self is a daily process and my heart desires to produce good seed….not remain dead in my sin. Great message…..I am signing up! I love how The Message puts it:
    John 12:24-25The Message
24-25 “Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.

Yes, Shelia, God’s mercy and grace should compel us to die to self daily. Your testimony is encouraging, I can hear a heart that desires to walk close with the Lord. Thank you for sharing! I am so excited that you are joining in!! Thank you for your kind words:)

Lisa, this is wonderful! No, we are not to knowingly continue in sin, but because we are human God’s grace covers our sinfulness. We are to work on removing whatever that sin is and until we do, God can’t truly bless us the way He wants to. Thank you for sharing with Thankful Thursdays,

Yes, Lori God’s grace covers our sinfulness!!! Praising Him for that grace! Yes, again, we are to work on removing the sin that still dwells in us. Praise God He has given us His power through the Spirit to prompt and guide us. Always a pleasure to be a part of Thankful Thursday!
