Bible Verses About Hope in Troubled Days.

May 13, 2020 · In: Bible Verses

What anchors your hope in troubled days? If it is anything other than Christ and the Word of God you will be tossed about like the waves of the sea!

What Anchors your Hope in Troubled Days?

Afflictions are a normal reality for a child of God. If suffering and trouble are normal, do we have any hope at all?

Can we be a joyful people in our afflictions?

Often we are swept away by the circumstances that encompass us and grab the world and do not take hold of the anchor of our souls and giver of all hope and joy. Jesus Christ!

How do we keep from drowning in our afflictions and troubles? How do we stand fast even when hardships and stress are resting?

We have our Bibles, we have bible verses about hope, the Word of God, which instructs, encourages, and gives hope.

Romans 15:4. For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

The Scriptures Affect Every Aspect of Our Lives

The Bible has a role to play in our lives. It affects every aspect of it. Often it is neglected and replaced with things that disguise themselves as hope and joy givers.

I think we believe the word of God is true and without error, but we neglect its sufficiency. God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3.
Do not neglect it.
Read it.
Memorize it.
Pray over it.
Establish your ways by it. Psalm 119:5

The Testimony, Hope, and Comfort of Scripture. Bible Verses that Give Hope.

Look at the testimony and prayers found in Psalms when the Psalmist took comfort from the word of God.

Take these words of hope and live by them.

God is our refuge and strength, A very ready help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth shakes And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.

Psalm 46:1-3

“Remember the word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction. That Your word has revived me.”
Psalm 119:49

I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O LORD, and comfort myself.
Psalm 119:52

My soul weeps because of grief; strengthen me according to Your word.
Psalm 119:28

For I trust in Your word.

Psalm 119:42

John Piper says this about the Scriptures. “The Scriptures are God’s appointed means to awaken and sustain our hope.” John Piper
