Resting in Hope in Our time of Suffering
“For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18
Is this the cry of our hearts during this time of uncertainty? Is our focus on the glory to be revealed, or is our gaze on the things of this world?
What has the pandemic of 2020, aroused in your heart? I am sure many of us have experienced fears within and in some measure battles from others, conflicts from without. 2 Corinthians 5:7.
We are in a time of uncertainty and the unknown. Outside control is out of our hands. Always has been! However, we can control our thoughts of fear and suffering. We can take them captive and remind them that God is Sovereign over this disease, and in all suffering that comes into our lives.
Times are Uncertain But Our Hope is in Christ
Although we do not know what today or tomorrow may bring, we know who holds tomorrow.
Take courage; do not be dismayed! Christ has overcome the world! John 16:33.
God deliberately sent Joshua into the Promise land to take it. He has intentionally sent His church into the world to suffer, battle, and overcome through Christ. You and I do not need to worry, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Psalm 146:5
